there’s still time to vision board
I missed you this weekend at the Vision Board Party!
During the party, I was so happy to join with other womxn to create our visions for the future. I’m inspired by the whole group (and of course, I missed the in-person energy, but we made some really magical connections).
I created a ritual that you can use to complete a vision board in less than an hour on your own.
Vision Board Ritual
To begin, get your supplies ready and put on a playlist that feels juicy and grounding (recommendation: Island Vibes). Tell your roommates/family/dog that you will need no interruptions for 60 minutes. Find a comfortable seat on the floor; the living room is a good spot for this.
1. Read the 2020 & 2021 meditation
2. Grab your magazines.
3. Tear or rip pictures out from the magazines and make a pile (set a timer for 15 minutes)
4. Grab your scissors and cut around the images
5. Place them on your board (set a timer for 15 minutes)
6. When you think they’re in a good spot, glue them to the board
7. Hang up your board in a place you see often! (I keep mine right next to my bed above my bedside table)
8. Celebrate with a one or two-song dance party!
Reminder
There’s no right way to make a vision board. Acknowledge any fear around getting it wrong. Release any ideas about tearing magazines or being strict about this experience. It’s not precious. When you see an image, you may not immediately see a conscious reason behind the need to tear a photo out of the magazine. I promise, most of the time it makes absolutely no f*cking sense. This is a time to trust the process of being present and not judging what our vision board looks like.
Final Notes about Action
Please take the next few days to use our combined energy, imagination and creativity to take action towards creating the vision of our dreams.
In astrology, the New Moon, which occurs tonight at 9pm PST, is a perfect time to get clear on our goals and desires and begin to plant the seeds of our vision. The first New Moon of the year is especially potent. I encourage you to complete your vision board this week to and share your seeds of desire with Mama Moon.
And finally, a book recommendation. In “Big Magic,” Elizabeth Gilbert speaks about following the threads of joy and creativity in our life even if, and especially when, it doesn’t make any sense; a perfect match for the vision boards.
And a Favor
I’d love to share your vision boards with others in the group, so please send me a photo when you’ve completed it. (If you can be holding your vision board in the photo, even better.)
You know where to find me if you need support or have questions. I’m just an email or dance party away.
Love, Nic
